The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is implementing a requirement for a negative COVID-19 test to all air passengers entering the United States. Air passengers are required to get a viral test (a test for current infection) within the 3 days before their flight to the U.S. departs, and provide written documentation of their laboratory test result (paper or electronic copy) to the airline or provide documentation of having recovered from COVID-19. Airlines must confirm the negative test result for all passengers or documentation of recovery before they board. If a passenger does not provide documentation of a negative test or recovery, or chooses not to take a test, the airline must deny boarding to the passenger.
This order was signed by the CDC Director on January 12, 2021 and will become effective on January 26, 2021. Canada implemented a similar requirement a short while ago.
We have entered into an agreement with Urgent Care/Medlab to test CDM and ABC guests departing on Saturday in the Frank Conway room at Casa del Mar. Medlab will come to Casa del Mar each Thursday from 7 AM to 9 AM to administer tests, beginning on Thursday, January 28. Results are typically back the same day but guaranteed by the next day. The cost is $126.00 per test, paid directly to Medlab. Members leaving on other days must make arrangements with Medlab on where they would like to be tested. Medlab has mobile testing capabilities and may be willing to test members at Casa del Mar. We will email members with the website address for making appointments as soon as it is live. Appointments must be made whether you are testing on Thursday at CDM or at other times during the week. This site is where you would request to be tested at their facility in Noord or with their mobile facility.
We are pleased to be able to provide this service to our members and hope that it eases the stress of testing prior to your flight back home.
