    Rose,
Respectfully, I do not believe there has been an answer to the initial question. Simply saying that the Board can not discuss private personnel information, is not an answer to the initial question. The question was and still is financial only. So the question is not “asked and answered”.

Providing members with general financial information should be a Board responsibility. My initial question made it clear that I am not asking about any one individual or case. I simply would like to know how much (total expense dollars) the club has spent on settling personnel terminations in the last three years (let’s say April 2016 to 2019). One total amount for the last three years, not individual years or individual cases. A financial question…accounting question if you will.

The Board’s first response to my question was a correct one…that the Controller (notice they did not say Human Resouce Manager) would have the information I am asking for…YES! Because it is financial information! I agreed and am still waiting for the answer from the Controller.

Financial information disclosure should not lead to a lawsuit anymore than a review of the Club’s financial statements would. I would never want the club to be subjected to a lawsuit for any reason.

Could it be the Board does not want us to know this information. I certainly hope this is not the case. I think we should know the dollar amount of all significant/major Board actions/decisions and I believe most members would agree. (I certainly hope you agree too.) After all, it is our money.

Could it be no one knows this information? If not, those making these costly decisions should know the financial ramifications of their actions and/or inactions. This should include all line Managers, especially the Human Resources Manager, the General Manager, and the Board.

So once again, I am asking for the total cost of all personnel settlement expenses in the last three years (April 2016 to April 2019). Not names, not cases, not number of cases, not positions, not dates, not departments etc…just one total dollar amount of all expenses incurred from employee terminations for the three year period.

    Thank you.

Yes, the Controller will have this information. Please ask him for the settlement fees and related court and legal fees. I am sure the Board wants to know this important information too in order to make future personnel decisions. Thank you.

Then why is the Board so protective of Ricardo’s rights over member’s needs? From observation this winter Ricardo’s has hardly utilized the beach. There was an engagement set on the beach…one table, two chairs. I know there were tables on the beach for New Years but other than that, nothing like past years. A few nights here and there(saw one tonight). BTW, no tables on the pool deck for New Years…I am guessing about half the crowd as past years.

Kandy, I think Arubaswim has a very valid question concerning costs of terminations. I would like to know what the club has spent on
terminations and the related legal fees for the last three years. I am not asking for confidential employee information. I am asking for the actual expenditure of the member’s monies.

Kandy, is it written in the contract with Ricardo’s that the beach in front of the restaurant will remain open/chickie free? Was it a negotiated term of the contract?

    Kevin,
It has been two months since you last responded to this post. Members are willing using their credit cards on a system that is questionable at the least.

    What did the Board decide?

    Thank you,
    Kathy

Mike I never said our group had a list of members, the board did. I am asking you to remove this post or correct the misinformation you attribute to me. Thank you.

Then why does the document state “New…furniture?” Very misleading…many folks here believe they are getting new furniture. ??????

    Kandy and Marie,
Please tell me how “All furniture stained darker and reupholstered” constitutes “new furniture”? Which the Footnote To Agenda Point 5 states? Is there new information? Are we getting “new” furniture or rehabbed furniture?

    Richard,
May we clarify that your comments above relate to the electronic system that you administer for the club not the email I received from Reservations. The email I received was sent from Reservations and included the information generated from the electronic system which included my credit card info.

    Thank you.
