tonyarubaParticipantFYI maintenance fees have increased every year. Not sure what your talking about.@Fisherlady48 wrote:
Olga. 😆 really?? again?? How quickly you forget the board before our current one. And this is the first maintenance increase in a few years, get over it. Stop complaining, that’s all you seem to do anywhere you can post!!
When units are rented they must be entered manually as they are not in the computers previously. Here is a suggestion, if you are SOOOOOOOOO UNHAPPY, SELL YOUR UNITS and go bother some other resort on Aruba, I’m sure they would love to meet you.

tonyarubaParticipantNot sure where Fisherlady is getting her information. Maintenance fees have gone up very year. And now even a larger increase. we all understand there will be increases in certain things. But all this nickle and dimeing going on is unacceptable. Some of us own numerous weeks and sometimes we are unable to use those weeks so we look to rent most times to family and friends. And with all these increases and this rediculous rental fee charging $35 of which no notice given. I received the email on MAY 15 stating it was retroactive on MAY 15. Are you kidding me. So those who rented from JAN1 -May15 get a free ride. So the low season owners get shafted. I was/am in process of renting 4 of the weeks i own and had confirmed rental price with guest renters and now I will have to eat an additional $150. UNACCEPTABLE!!! We submit the forms we do the leg work all the staff has to do is type a name on the welcome packs just as they have to do with the member who owns the room. If you going to do this then the cost if anything should be passed along to the renter and paid when they check out. By hitting members up for all they added fees the club is going to price themselves out and many members may just not rent their rooms and start banking with RCI and II and the club will see even more reduction in income coming in and we all know how many vacant rooms there are that ABC cant rent because they are in the control of RCI or II. This was a bad decision on the boards part and even worse not giving the members a heads up or opportunity to vote on it. This needs to addressed and soon. this was part of the problem with the old board doing things and not being transparent until after it was done. those of us who have been with ABC for many many years care about our club but if things are going to revert back to the old way of doing things we will NOT let that happen again. So i ask the members to use voices and let the board know this was not the right decision and to get rid of the rental fee. And stop comparing us to other resorts and how they do things. And for those who think members who rent are doing so to make a profit..think again. By renting we are bringing in people who will spend money in our resort and on the island. I personally over the years have rented out units and in more than a few cases they ended up either returning or buying their own units.
