Fisherlady48ParticipantThe bargains to be bought are not by the club, but to us owners. Deals are out there, as some do not want to go thru another assessment. I’m pretty sure you and I were at the same Owners meeting, I hear you are there most weeks, spreading your whatever it is you spread, its certainly not good cheer and happiness at being an owner at the best resort on Aruba. And no, it does not matter that you are a “local”. Cheer up and use some of those weeks you have!!anyway back to the Owners meeting. It was stated clearly the Club is not “buying up” weeks, they are holding any they have foreclosed on to make sure everyone has a place to stay during the renovations.

Fisherlady48ParticipantSadly I only returned from one week. Used the Umbrellas every day, except for one under a chickee by the pool. I loved the umbrellas, and as I am a lite sleeper and early riser laughed when I saw one woman heading out at 3:30 with her stack of towels. I think I am done with ever doing that. Very nice breeze, did not have to move much and most have hooks. I spoke with another owner that bought and brought his own S hook to use. Good to know.- 03/26/2019 at 5:43 pm

Fisherlady48ParticipantRaquel left in good graces with our club. She will have no problem finding employment. I’m wondering if some posters are retired and forget that most employees are “at will” other work for their first year on probation. So no harm no foul if either does not want to continue. And I stand by the statement that as an HR matter, the specifics are not our business. What we should be looking forward to (I am) is how great our club is going to look with our renovations.

And to see the joy of people playing tennis is so much fun, these courts so much more can be done with them, not only tennis but several sports they can be used for, but old BOD members only think about themselves never about the people young or sportive.
yet that alone is our future but what do they care, they do not play tennis, they are not in a wheelchair (yet) [center:3ml51y13]they never use the pool which is often filthy and full of mold
[/center:3ml51y13] ,soo great planning for our children and future generations.
The pool is never filthy, and how many more checks for mold do you want??? Every day 7 days a week, including Sunday and holidays the pool is scrubbed. Come on down to your club at 6:00 am and supervise before you tell stories!!

Fisherlady48ParticipantCould it be that $100,000 was used to replace the money spent on the damage done to our resort last Fall?I know it was not covered by our insurance.

- in reply to: What is the view for units 159-247 far back side
Fisherlady48Participantthe ground floor view would be ocean between Manchebo and ABC. But like all ground units you must move your chair to the end of your patio for a good view.Hope this helps.
Its very private over there.

Fisherlady48ParticipantThanks for the info. But I was unaware that the address had changed from last year. I have no doubt you mentioned it but I forgot why? Thanks.- 09/18/2018 at 4:19 pm
- in reply to: Refurbishment and three year assessment
Fisherlady48ParticipantI was an owner 15 years ago and am still an owner today, and the 3 year assessment is the best way to get the money needed upfront to start ordering the materials needed for the refurbishment. This board has spent the last 2 years discussing and accepting and looking at all ideas brought forward by the owners. And yes logistically it will be a challenge as some of the weeks are 100% occupied. As to waiting until “your” unit will be refurbished to pay.. are you kidding? We all know what the season was when we bought our weeks. But the cost to refurbish will be the same per unit regardless of the season owned.and when you say out of date, where have you been? Have you not noticed the new elevator?, air conditioner cooler (mega bucks), new commercial dryer, updated fire alarms and on and on. There is constant upkeep going on at our resort.

Does not look like they have much experience in the Caribbean. Only 2 locations, & one has been closed since last Sept and the other partially open. The other resort is slowly coming around & only open to owners for 2018. These properties were damaged last year by Hurricane Maria.
please take a look at this link discussing their property on St. Martin and its current status. Like all islands, things come in on island time, however, it looks like they have been working hard to keep their owners up to date on whats happening. Did you see the damage done? It knocked out many islands.
