We also voted yes, as this is way overdue.

And now that we have 3 open BOD positions next year, I would expect about 20-25 folks to be running, with all the ‘experts’ we seem to have within the membership.

hi, i see a lot of people asking for this type information

Question 10: Can we get a line item cost of the refurbished room? What is the cost of the drapes, bedspreads, pillows, floor tiles, cost for replacing the cabinets and counter tops in the kitchen, etc…) I do understand that we have to pay more than we would at home (USA) but at least give us an idea of the cost and the labor costs please.

And if we get this, what am I supposed to do with this? Am I to try and price shop the pillow price against jcpenny, amazon, and william sonoma? And if I believe they are overpaying $5 for the pillows, what do i do with that intel, vote the whole refurbishment down? And as for counter tops, do I price shop them against Home Depost and Lowes? I just don’t get what folks would do with all this data? Who would have time to price check 50+ items. As how many hours would I put in to try and drive about a $700 assessment down to $600 or $500 or $400. Am I going to spend 20 hours to try and save $200. No chance, as my time is worth way more than $10 an hour

The units need a refresh for sure. And if long time owners have not planned for, well we need to move forward anyway.

How should we pay it off?

I’m not too worried about that myself. There will never be enough votes to say no

Why did you not want the renter to be charged? I’m passing along this fee to them, and if they don’t like, they can moved along to someone else.

because there will still be wifi at the canyon terrace and lobby, as I do not believe that goes away. That has to be paid for also, with the system upgrade.

Yes, you do not have to pay for the added access within your room for 4 devices. That is an ala-cart service, which I am very much looking forward too. I always hated when everyone always used the term “free” with the current set up, as I am smart enough to know, that nothing is free. They can either bury every fee into the dues, or give us transparency on what we are actually paying for? Either way, you only please about half the folks

But, I welcome your idea of walking for the free wifi. Not only do you save money, but you also get heathy.

I only debate the vocal minority, as it relieves my stress, which my Doctor says is good for me. It also brings me humor, as others say, I need more of that in my life. The vocal minority are all bark and no bite. They just like to bitch, but don’t take any real action. They don’t have much support, and when it comes to voting, they can’t drive enough votes to make a difference in the first place.
