As of October 1st Econo is no longer located at ABC however they still have locations at La Quinta Beach Resort Hotel, and at Caribbean Palm Village as well as at the airport. If you have a reservation for a pick up or drop off at ABC they will meet you there so you should reach out to them.

Thanks Kandy your 100% right they just contacted us and told us what you wrote, but someone named Milo will be there to get the car . They also will deliver the rental to you and pick it up even though they no longer have a desk there.

Kandy where are you getting this info from according to Econo on a rental we have (pick up airport drop off ABC) this was the answer they gave us on August 23 (Glad to assist you. Yes, we still have a desk at the ABC.) and even on their web site you provided it says they have a desk at ABC . Are telling us there is no desk at ABC for Econo car rental ?

I too would vote for at least two nights a week and I would have the party go til 1:00! We are on vacation and we want fun and excitement! Plus, once you’re indoors with your door shut, you can barely hear anything. Some people are too uptight IMHO. I was there week 19 (the week of the big wedding) and it was such a fun time. We stayed up all night and slept by the beach the next day!

    Who got married ?????

Sorry Rose, and not trying to be difficult, but the issue of not having umbrellas in front of Ricardo’s has been an issue with me from the inception, and to my mind, we still haven’t gotten a definitive answer as to why! Now we find out that there was/is nothing in Ricardo’s lease precluding umbrellas. I believe it was Kandy who said the BOD was going to revisit this issue, and one of my questions is…. did they?

According to Kevin, the restaurant is producing as much or more under Anky’s management. Another question…is the restaurant making more of a profit with tables on the beach?

Having spent February at the Club, maybe one night a week there was a table on the beach, and that’s being generous!

Restaurants are a dime a dozen, but how many hotels or timeshares have the benefit of being right on the beach? And, maybe it’s selfish, but I believe the wants and needs of the members should be paramount… and, if a poll were to be taken, my guess is that our members would rather have that part of the beach back rather than it being “off limits.”

The reason this discussion has been beaten to death is because it was never discussed or thrown out to the members by the BOD prior to it happening….just like the extension of the deck. It happened… period!

Elaine you couldn’t be anymore right on!!!!!! Kandy is correct if you read back an answer was given by a Pam Cordell, I believe management company ? She stated that anyone could stake their own umbrella in front of Ricardo’s, PUBLIC BEACH ,that being said ABC was not going to put up any umbrellas due to the fact they didn’t have enough staff to remove them or store them till the next day along with the umbrella stands at 4 pm to be put away for what? So Kandy ( BOD)answered that there is not a contract with Ricardo’s that she can see /find to have the original chickees along with about 4 trees removed and Pam Cordell ( Management Company ) says they would have to be removed if ABC put them up by 4 PM. Total, Total, Total, waste of beautiful ocean front not being used during the day. 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 More sad is this decision is being made by a handful of people and members have had no say in it, public beach or otherwise .

In her original response, she said they couldn’t require anyone to move.
So then you’d just have members being rude to each other and spoiling people’s dinner on the beach. So much room for people to put an umbrella if they brought one, why the insistence on the one place tables would go.

Rose first of all no one is trying to ruin any ones dinner I just trying to figure out why its allowed to ruin members days on the beach by not having any huts or trees in this area. That being said when Kandy made her post and answered the question that members or anyone else wouldn’t / couldn’t be moved we got it. How ever when this answer by Ms Cordell was posted “In order to have this area cleared for dinner to be served on the beach and private affairs, umbrellas would need to be removed at 4pm. There would be no way ABC could require people to vacate the umbrellas by 4 and does not have enough staff to remove them each evening and place them back the next day” It brought up a new question for me and should with everyone else who is an owner at ABC . If there is no agreement with Ricardo’s that ABC removed the original chickees/hut (a dozen or so maybe more which ran across the front of the original restaurant ) by the way along with about 1/2 dozen palm trees why would there be a need to remove umbrellas or members by 4 PM . Its not like they put up 20 tables on the beach for dinner each evening, most nights there are no tables on the beach or empty ones with even a bigger joke they’ll put a setting out there for sometimes a couple or maybe a party of six and that’s it for the evening, comical at best. ( I also believe but as usual could be wrong you have to make a reservation request to have them on the beach with the restaurant !!!!) So why is almost 200 feet of beach from side to side in front of the restaurant ,a prime spot on the beach for us not usable every day. I don’t get it !!!!! If there concerned about removing the umbrellas each night have the restaurant help do it while there setting up the couple of tables and put them back after the people have finished dining for the night. What s so hard about that ??

Regarding the placement of beach umbrellas/chickees: the Board of Directors has revisited and discussed this matter again at the board meeting this week. In order to have this area cleared for dinner to be served on the beach and private affairs, umbrellas would need to be removed at 4pm. There would be no way ABC could require people to vacate the umbrellas by 4 and does not have enough staff to remove them each evening and place them back the next day. Also ABC has no place to store these umbrellas and tables at night and the cement bases with posts would be exposed in the sand and create a hazard so the decision is once again to not place umbrellas on the beach in front of Ricardos. Sixteen new umbrellas have been recently placed on the beach.

Ms Cordell or any member of the BOD who reads this post, seeing that all beaches are public, could a member, any member or for that fact anyone place their own umbrella any where on the beach (as long as it wasn’t on ABC property where ever that is) if they wanted, even if it was in front of Ricardo’s anytime they wanted, for as long as they wanted ??? Obviously we understand that non owners would not be able to use any beach chairs, lounges or property belonging to ABC , but if an owner put their own umbrella up “which has been done many times in the past two years due to storms”, not an umbrella belonging to ABC in front of Ricardo’s and used the clubs beach chairs, is someone from ABC gonna tell them they have to remove club property “chairs and lounges” ? and sit on the sand in front of Ricardo’s after 4 PM ,which by the way to some of us is the best part of the day. Seems to me how you explained this unique set up with Ricardo’s, owners would have to move off the beach in front of Ricardo’s so they can set up dinner or a private affair on a public beach . Under whos authority would you ( or anyone from ABC) be able to require anyone!!!!! member or other wise to leave or remove themselves from in front of Ricardo’s where they had there umbrellas set up for the day to enjoy the public beach if Ricardo’s was going to set up for dinner on the beach or a private affair ???? Is this what your telling us from what I m reading?

Ms Cordell or any BOD member, I’d appreciate an answer to my post !

Please correct my question from Week 9’s Weekly Member’s Meeting minutes. My question did not include any employee’s name. I would never publicly use an individual’s name in relation to a personnel matter of this nature. Truth be known, I never knew this employee or her name. Please delete the individual’s name from the minutes.

Question: I would like to know what the club has spent on employee termination settlements and the related legal fees for the last three years (including the most recent). I am not asking for individual confidential employee information. I am asking for the actual total expenditures of the member’s monies, a financial question.

Note: I have posted the above question in another thread. Since the answer is relevant here I am reposting the question. Please post your answer in both places. Thank you.

Just being nosy here, but can I ask why your asking for this info?

So is this by Aruban law that we can’t include a strike clause?

Fastmike51, I m assuming by you asking this question you have experience negotiating labor contracts? and if I may ask what brought you to ask a question about workers striking in Aruba, its really not in the fast lane/main stream of questions usually asked on this board or for that matter any other board I been on before. Is there something going on at ABC you could share with us?

    Hello John,
As an owner, when visiting the resort for the day, stop by front desk, present your owners card, and tell them you would like a day pass. They will give you a pass to take to the towel station which opens at 10am where you can pick up towels for the day. Towels must be returned before 6pm that same day. Enjoy your visit to ABC.

Kandy where does one get an owners card ? Kris

When Marie turned off my post it is being a bully. Here is another reason of what is happening why members should think twice about what is going on,
The Association and Raquel Bautista have mutually agreed upon a separation of employment.

The Board and Management will be working together to locate a new General Manager who best fits the the needs of ABC and our Association. While her management style was discovered to not be the best fit for ABC, we wish Raquel well in her future endeavors. How is she going to get a job with another club now? The board of directors have to balance what is good for the club as a whole. They will never please everyone. Different members have different opinions on a variety of issues. There are decisions made that differ from my wants but I understand that I am only one member.
What I would say on this beach issue in front of Ricardo’s is that if this was so important to some, they should have run for the board or make sure that someone running would be an advocate for their position. I don’t think anyone that decided to volunteer their time has made this a major point. I will also say that because someone disagrees with you doesn’t mean you are being bullied.

Where are you obtaining this info? Other than that speaking for me personally and not trying to be a smart A?? I have no idea what the heck your talking about 🙄 Has anyone else or is it just me?
