Is room 129 complete and being used now.[/quote]

Yes, the sample room 129 is complete and yesterday afternoon there was an open house for owners who were onsite that cared to view it.

    Hi Kandy,
Will these new charges be in addition to the $1 per day charge for the ‘free’ wifi under the terrace?

    Thanks,
    Dennis

    Hi Dennis,
The $1.00 per day fee was discussed but never implemented. The new wi-fi will offer availability throughout the resort including the beach. The free wi-fi will remain in the lobby and the Cayenna Terrace as always .

I am the one that posts the minutes of the members meetings here in the owners area and I post them just as soon as they are sent to me. The minutes have not yet been sent for either weeks 34 or 35. I wasn’t there but have been told that during one of the meetings several questions were ask by our Spanish speaking members that needed translated. That combined with several other unforeseen and unfortunate circumstances have delayed the minutes. Just as soon as I get them they will be posted.

Yes, the scales are located in the gym. The gym is shared by ABC and CDM and located in CDM next to the towel station. You will need your room key to get in the door.

There is no payment portal at ABC for paying your dues online.

I believe E/S stands for energy surcharge and N/S stands for NO SHOW. You would have to check with accounting to be sure. If you leave your unit empty you are charged the energy fee for the nights. The energy fee per night for a deluxe unit is $13. If you left your room unoccupied for 2 nights that would be the $26.

Print off the transfer form and the application for membership.
Follow the directions on the form.
Take note that both the part filled out by the seller and the buyer have to be notarized.
If your buyer is not already an owner at ABC they must fill out the application for membership.
These forms along with your original share certificate (deed) and the money for the transfer have to be taken to John Theysen (Sales & Marketing Representative Resales & Transfers Coordinator)
If you are doing this in person or sending it to the club with a friend pay cash because the banks in Aruba now charge $5 for every foreign check transaction so if you pay by check it would be $255. instead of $250. for the transfer fee. For any further questions you can contact:

Oh I really didn’t think it was snarky nor did I take it personal. I agree with “Shoco” and ABC is improving every day. I just wanted he/she to know that I have always had the best interest of ABC at heart and had been asking for an updated web site since 2009. I love the site as it is now and as it is being used more and more evidently other owners do too.

Rtubbs happy you had a good experience with the new online form. It saves so much time. :)

Shake you head all you want to but it wasn’t for lack of trying on my part to get a new web site. That old web site was a nightmare. As you can see on the dates on the emails below I wrote for the first time to the BOD in 2009 to update the web site after a few years of frustration. The only thing ANYONE liked about he old site was that it had music.
In 2011 after two new board members were elected I wrote again about updating this site and in 2012 this new web site was launched which at the time I thought the same thing you did, “Welcome to the 21st century ABC”

Dear gentlemen of the board of directors of the Aruba Beach Club,

I am sending this email to make a suggestion for the web site for the club. I appreciate the job the current administrator has done with the ABC web site, but I feel it would be of great benefit to the members of ABC if you changed web administrators from your current one and ask for the help of Richard (the original webmaster) to take over the duties.

Our current site is difficult to navigate, example being the rental listings. Also there are NEVER any postings to the guestbook. We need a message board such as they have on the CDM site to be able to communicate with one another, ask questions, post trip reports, etc. It would also be a place the club manager could post a monthly report for all to see the updates at the club.

Mr Booth currently runs the Casa del Mar, Playa Linda and the Aruba Bulletin Board. He does a fantastic job of monitoring these boards for inappropriate postings and will quickly lock down a thread that gets out of hand.

I thank you for your time and look forward to your reply.
    Regards,

    Dear Kandy,

This is in response to your e-mail of September 17th.

During the recent meeting of the ABC Board there was a review and discussion of the Club’s current Web Site. The following decisions were made:

The Board is satisfied with the service currently being performed by our existing Web Master, though instructions have been issued to bring the Web Site more up to date.

The Board has decided not to set up a Bulletin Board on the Club’s Web Site since most of these quickly degenerate into just complaint postings. However, effective with the next edition of the ABC Newsletter there is going to be a new site which will contain a Bulletin Board where ABC Members will be able to post whatever they want to. This site will be run by the Aruba Tourist Authority and will be beyond the control of the Board, the Club Staff and any one individual member. Look for the announcement in your next Newsletter.

Thank you for your suggestions and for your wish in your club.

These are the timeshares that I know of besides ABC that charge a fee for private rentals. I think Playa Linda might also charge but I don’t know how much.
    Tropicana – $25
    LaCabana – $35
    Costa Linda- $35

As Secretary to the Board, I have catalogued 89 email replies sent thus far this work week by the Vice Chairperson Cindy Martorella. These are replies to members, none of which in my opinion, I have found to be abrasive.
It is extremely difficult to reply to email immediately but she has done so in a timely matter.

    Hey Mike,
On your 2018 Convocation the maintenance fee increase was posted and ask to be voted on.
The Proposed Budget includes an increase in Maintenance Fees of 8%
    Current Maintenance Fees: Superior – $568, Deluxe – $671 and Royal – $781
    Proposed new Maintenance Fees: Superior – $613, Deluxe – $725 and Royal – $844

The result was 69.7% voted for and 26.9% voted against and 3.4% were invalid so to answer your question the maintenance fee for a Superior next year will be $613. ABC still remains the timeshare with the lowest maintenance fee on the island.
