KandyParticipantSeptember 13, 2019Dear Aruba Beach Club Owners:
Our long-awaited refurbishments projects have begun and are well underway. Following is a summary of the work that has progressed thus far. We have also included photos of the various projects so that you may enjoy the progress with us. We will continue to post updates to the Owner’s portion of the resort website: http://www.arubabeachclub.net and also on the official resort Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/arubabeachclub/
Phase 1- Interior Unit Remodeling- scheduled to begin on Saturday, August 17th. Due to availability of units, we were able to begin on Thursday, August 15th. There are four units presently being worked on 147, 148, 247, and 248. As indicated in previous updates, we plan to work on four units at a time and anticipate that each batch of four units will take approximately four weeks to complete.
Swimming Pool Projects- the project of repairing and resurfacing the adult and kiddie pools began on Saturday, August 24th. This project includes crack repair, coping replacement, depth marker replacements, and resurfacing. This project is expected to be completed by the end of September. Owners and guests of ABC are welcome to use the pool at CDM during this time.
Unit Entry Door Lock Replacement- the installation of new RFID locks on all unit entry doors is complete. This project began in late June and was completed in approximately three weeks. We are still working through some technical challenges with the system, and also the installation of the locks on the common area and back of the house doors. Upon full completion, we will begin making the bracelets available for purchase at the Front Desk upon check-in. The bracelets will be at a cost of $5.00 each and are reusable so that you may bring them with you year after year and simply have them reprogrammed on each visit. Standard key cards will still be available to be used for those that don’t wish to purchase the bracelets.
Please stay tuned for further updates as we continue to work to improve and enhance your Home Away from Home.

KandyParticipantDear all,Article 25/1 of our FTA contract clearly states that:
“The Union agrees to the validity of this Article under applicable law, there shall be no picketing, slowdown, walkout, strike or any other unauthorized cessation of work during the term of this Collective Working Agreement. In case of such unauthorized slowdown or stoppage of work of any kind, the Union shall make every reasonable effort to induce its members to return to normal work. Union members who nevertheless continue such unauthorized slowdown or stoppage of work, remain subject to disciplinary action or termination by the company to the extent such actions or termination do not violate applicable laws.”
The ABCR Board Chairman and HR Manager met with the FTA Union President and shop steward, the problem was resolved and the employees returned to work within the hour.
Warm regards to all,
